Actress, Producer, Nurse and Mother!
MIHM: Tell us a little bit about you, where are you from and what inspired you to pursue a career in the entertainment and healthcare fields?
KB: I’m originally from the Midwest, but I relocated to the New York City area to pursue my goals in the entertainment industry. Before making that move, I worked as a travel nurse, which allowed me to explore different cities and experiences. I spent some time in the Atlanta area but ultimately decided that New York was the place where I wanted to truly chase my dreams in entertainment. My career path has unfolded organically. I never had a strict plan to enter these industries in my early 20s, I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to do. Things evolved naturally. While studying at a school of ministry, I read about Florence Nightingale and was deeply inspired by her contributions to the world. That’s when I decided to pursue nursing as my first career. Over time, I developed an interest in modeling, which led me to acting, and eventually to producing. The turning point came while I was working at an all-male maximum-security prison in Kansas. I loved my work as a mental health nurse, but I also realized there were parts of myself I couldn’t fully express in that environment. That’s when I made the decision to try something new to explore the creative side of who I am and start developing the skills necessary for a third career in entertainment. Although I began this path later in life, I’ve invested a great deal of time and energy into it. My journey hasn’t been accidental I’ve worked intentionally to build relationships with investors, strengthen my craft, and prepare for success in this industry. I’m also incredibly grateful I earned my MBA after nursing school; it’s proven invaluable and opens countless doors, both in business and entertainment.
“I am motivated by seeing what I can see what I can accomplish. I thrive on diversity.”

MIHM: How would you describe the aspects you enjoy most in acting, producing, and healthcare?
KB: In acting, I enjoy the creative process of building a character to life. As a producer, I take pride in helping transform a vision into reality. My love of business and working with investors makes producing a natural fit for me. Having served as a healthcare supervisor and manager, I’ve developed strong leadership and management skills that translate well into the entertainment industry. In healthcare, I’ve always found fulfillment in helping people whether supporting their mental health or addressing other challenges often during some of their most difficult times. Making a difference in people’s lives gives my work meaning, and as a supervisor, I take great joy in guiding and empowering my team.
MIHM: You have worked in other fields including ministry and careers working at Corizon Health at Lansing Correctional Facility; AXA Advisors, LLC; Two Rivers Psychiatric Hospital; Marillac Children’s Hospital and Research Medical Center and others. What motivates you to do so much and work in all these places?
KB: I am motivated by seeing what I can see what I can accomplish. I thrive on diversity. I get bored if I am always doing the same thing. Working in different industries and in different jobs, I have learned many different skills I can use for success anywhere. I work a ton of hours usually between 80 and 120 hours weekly, and I have been able to accomplish a lot. To succeed in multiple industries, you have to be able to invest the time and effort to do this. I have seen how beneficial cross industry skills are and how much they have helped me to be successful. Due to my success in the healthcare industry, I am able to invest in projects I am passionate about and to create my own opportunities instead of waiting for opportunities to arrive. When you see results, it puts everything into perspective and helps continue to motivate you. I learned about business from working in the healthcare industry and the entertainment industry is a business.
MIHM: You are the mother of a beautiful daughter. Please tell us about that experience.
KB: My daughter, Karissa Grace is 14 years old now and I love being her mom. She is such an amazing daughter and a terrific person. She brings so much joy to my life. Being a mom and being an example for a young woman has been a part of my life I would never trade. I love it when I am able to spend time with her and she loves acting. She has really developed a passion for it.
MIHM: How do you see yourself in 5 years?
KB: In five years, I see myself continuing to pursue the path I am on. I plan to always be involved in healthcare and to work as a nurse, most likely within an administrative capacity. Nursing has been an amazing career for me and gives me a lot of fulfillments. However, in the future I would like to be involved less in healthcare and to produce more projects regularly. I see myself continuing to pursue acting and production. I plan to continue with Gaimchang3r Entertainment and other companies I have developed business relationships with, as there are several projects that are on the horizon. I plan at some point to start producing my own projects and also to contribute and be a backbone as a producer and actress in different projects as it makes sense to be involved.
MIHM: If you could work with somebody you admire, celebrity, politician, musician, leader or anybody else who would it be and why?
KB: I am definitely a believer in collaboration and if I could work with anyone, I believe James Cameron would be at the top of the list as he has produced, directed and continues to produce very significant projects. Not only is he an outstanding producer, who has brought forth epic projects, but he has been known for technological innovation that he has pioneered and applied to bring to life what he had envisioned. He tackles bold, challenging projects, and I really admire his career with all he has been able to accomplish and will continue to do in the future.

MIHM: Define what success means to you?
KB: Success to me is being able to live the life you want. If options are always open to you and you are able to pursue what is important to you, then I think this shows a successful person. If you are also able to open doors for others, make an impact in your area of expertise and leave a legacy for future generations to learn from, then you have accomplished something significant.
MIHM: What projects are you working on now?
KB: Currently, a project I am working on as an assistant producer, is a film called Pony. This film is an action movie and will be premiering in March of 2026. Pony is an adrenaline filled film about female racers in motorsports. This film focuses on the story of two sisters who are dirt racing champions, named Pony and Amanda Marchetti. This film contains family values and also has a strong focus on coping with mental health issues and is a very inspirational film. During one of the races there was a suspicious crash, and it was discovered Amanda’s crash was no accident at all. This event had a huge impact on Pony, who was haunted by the idea she could share her sister’s fate. Pony has to overcome the demons that haunt her to become who she was meant to be. Being involved in this film has been an amazing and unforgettable experience.
The second project I am involved with is Da Gaimchang3r’s final album after a 35year career. I am co-executive producer of his album The Last of My Kind: The Final Journey being brought by Gaimchang3r Entertainment. This album is dropping in February of 2026. Da Gaimchang3r is a founding member of iconic groups South Central Cartel, Havoc & Prodeje, and Murder Squad. The project features 13 songs, each different in style and energy, ranging from mellow and reflective to raw and hard-hitting. This final album showcases Da Gaimchang3r as a solo artist. His final journey tour is beginning in January 2026 and has shows worldwide.
MIHM: Who have been your biggest mentors in your career?
KB: My business partner, Cary Calvin from Gaimchang3r Entertainment, has been a mentor to me in the music industry. He has really taught me a lot, as prior to being involved in his last album I had no involvement in the music industry. Also, Bob Hammel who I worked on Pony with, has been a very significant influence. He taught me all about producing a movie. My acting coach David Wenzel has also been very significant in my life for a number of years. He has really given me a love for being on screen and creating characters. He helped me find my confidence and my voice. I have taken what all these people have taught me and applied these lessons to following my own path. We will see where it leads in the future…
